I first stumbled across Kingsfoil in 2010 at Ohio University when they opened for The Goo Goo Dolls. And may I just say that it was love at first lyric. The central Pennsylvania band of four brings rock, indie and pop together in one sound that sparks catchy tunes and meaning full words into great songs. And their newest song and video for “What Your Mother Taught You” doesn’t disappoint.
It’s a pretty straightforward setup, as far as music videos go. Cue band, playing at a party with intermittent shots of a pretty, yet devilish girl wearing red lipstick. But I still enjoyed it. I found it fun and a good match for the tone of the song. And the best part was that they didn’t try to overdo the video like so many bands seem to be tempted to do these days.
On a side not, Kingsfoil recently added a new addition on drums. Does the name Frankie Muniz. Yes, ladies and gents, Malcolm himself is now providing the beat for Kingsfoil. As if I didn’t have enough of a reason to be excited for the band’s return to OU later this month!
